Macnabs are delighted to announce that after a rigorous training process and series of exams, Partner Garry Sutherland has recently been appointed as a Solicitor Advocate. Garry, who has focused on court and tribunal work for over 20 years, is now one of a select number of lawyers who are able to represent clients in the higher courts in Scotland and the UK, including the Court of Session, the Supreme Court and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Garry is the only Perth based solicitor to hold the qualification.

Garry is experienced in many areas of Scottish civil law, and is well known in particular for representing clients in contract disputes, property disputes, debt recovery, negligence claims and employment law. Garry deals with cases from start to finish for his clients and regularly appears in person in court. When clients instruct him for a case, they know that Garry will be their solicitor throughout the case which is why his loyal client following regularly return to him for assistance when the need arises. His new appointment allows him to continue to do so in the higher Scottish Courts as well when his clients' needs take him there.

Garry was also appointed earlier in 2022 as a part time Summary Sheriff, again after a rigorous appointment exercise.
