Due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit a qualified Conveyancing Solicitor and an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join our busy property team, which can based in any of our offices.

Conveyancing Solicitor

This is a full-time role working, 8.45am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Solicitor who is able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of Property Law. You will ensure, in conjunction with the team, that cases are progressed quickly and efficiently with the highest level of client service. Your role will involve handling purchase, sale, transfer of title, new build transactions from instruction to completion. You will work with our valued clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.

Duties include:

  • Managing their own case holding of residential conveyancing matters
  • Corresponding and maintaining excellent communication with clients and other solicitors
  • Providing guidance and support to other solicitors, trainee solicitors and paralegals within the department
  • Supporting business development within the department
  • Carry out a wide variety of residential conveyancing transactions including sale, purchase, transfer of title
  • Completion cases from instruction to completion as per department SLA
  • Deal with referrals and provide legal advice when required
  • Ability to deal with volume legal work to include noting titles, negotiating missives, dealing with alterations, assessing source of wealth/source of funds, dealing with all Lender requirements as per UK finance handbook

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • 3-5 Years PQE
  • Solid experience in volume purchase/sales transactions
  • Experience of residential property matters in Scotland
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise, with strong time management skills

This role will involve travelling to our other branches within Perthshire and a driving licence would be preferable.

Conveyancing Paralegal

Due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to strengthen our busy property team which can be based in any of our offices. This is a full-time role working, 8.45am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

In this role you will be working with a qualified solicitor ensuring that all conveyancing transactions are handled professionally and efficiently. You will also assist with running cases from instruction through to exchange.   

This is a varied role with lots of opportunities to gain valuable first-hand experience in a range of cases whilst working with senior fee earners.

Duties include:

  • Provide support to lead Solicitor/ fee earner
  • Liaising with internal and external clients by email, telephone and face to face
  • Dealing with title deeds
  • Acting on behalf of the clients
  • Drafting and amending legal documentation
  • Dealing with ordering routine property searches
  • Administrative tasks such as AML procedures and checks, opening files, file management and preparing bills
  • Generally assisting partners and other fee earners on client matters

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to efficiently manage your own caseload
  • Experience managing purchasing and sales from start to finish
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all levels
  • Demonstratable organisational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and be able to time-mange effectively
